Treatment for Relational Trauma

Maybe you’re here because you’ve experienced emotional or sexual abuse, or maybe you just went through a break-up. Maybe you feel stuck in patterns of unhealthy behaviors, or you just can’t pinpoint why you’re so anxious all the time. Perhaps you have no idea if what you've been through even qualifies as trauma, but you have a sense you haven't fully healed from a past experience that hurt you.

I use a number of therapies, including EMDR, to help people heal from past trauma, and experiences that have hurt them. More traditional talk therapies often lead to increased insight and understanding. Although this can be helpful, I find healing from trauma requires more than understanding - it requires helping your brain and your heart speak again, so you can not only understand what happened to you, but feel free from it once and for all. I specialize in helping people heal on both an intellectual and an emotional level. I also offer faith-based therapy from a Christian perspective for those who are interested in incorporating their faith into their therapy.

Relational trauma is trauma that occurs within the context of a relationship. It leaves you with emotional whip-lash - feeling like you thought you knew who you were and then suddenly you have no idea. We are all relational beings - we love and we desire to be loved. This is why it’s so painful - it goes against the very core of who you are as a human being.

There is treatment for this. You don’t have to suffer. There is healing. There is hope. There is life on the other side of the pain. You don’t have to go through this alone.
